What makes a successful employee? Are there certain attributes common to people who are fufilled and happy and successful?
There are, of course, lots of not-so-simple answers to these simple questions. There are consultants, experts, classes and books galore. What follows, then, is one guys quick and dirty opinions on the answers to these questions:
level one - basics
- show up (on time)
- look good
- do good work
- account for your work
- document your work
- meet client expectations
- meet supervisor expectations
level two - up to speed
- part of a team
- lift each other
- focus on work
- minimze distractions (instant messengers, blog sites, etc)
- control emotions
- do what you say you will
- exceed client expectations
- exceed supervisor expectations
level three - warp factor nine
- strive to improve
- passion to learn
- believe in our success
- show initiative
- laugh at yourself
- enjoy the ride
- be a superstar
Just my opinion…
