Are you interested in starting a business in 2010? Why not! Start an LLC, it’s easy, and Rick Bell and the folks at Harvard Business Services can get you jumpstarted into forming your own LLC right away at Delaware LLC (http://www.delawarellc.com).

What is an LLC?

A limited liability company or a company with limited liability (abbreviated L.L.C. or LLC or W.L.L) in the law of the vast majority of United States jurisdictions is a legal form of business company that provides limited liability to its owners. Often incorrectly called a “limited liability corporation” (instead of company), it is a hybrid business entity having certain characteristics of both a corporation and a partnership or sole proprietorship (depending on how many owners there are). An LLC, although a business entity, is a type of unincorporated association and is not a corporation. The primary characteristic an LLC shares with a corporation is limited liability, and the primary characteristic it shares with a partnership is the availability of pass-through income taxation. It is often more flexible than a corporation and it is well-suited for companies with a single owner.

Delaware LLC is built on our custom Drupal CMS package. It was designed from the ground up by Creative Director Kevin Howett, and put together in a collaborative effort between newcomer Matt Oseland, Kevin Howett and Bryan Cordrey. Efforts were focused on a pleasing, business-minded design, effective search engine optimization, and funneling/encouraging customers to begin the process of forming an LLC in Delaware.

As Rick’s customers go to him and Harvard Business Services for their LLC/incorporation expertise, Rick came to Inclind for our expertise in clean, effective websites and powerful web application development under Drupal and our deep knowledge of content management systems such as Drupal. We also got to flex our system integration skills with Drupal, PHP and Coldfusion.

About Delaware LLC & Harvard Business Services

With more than 25 years of experience, over 20,000 clients worldwide, and offices in both the United States and Europe, Harvard Business Services, Inc. is the premier provider of registered agent and business formation solutions.

Rick Bell formed Harvard Business Services, Inc. in March, 1981. Competitors then were big and well established. But Rick conducted business with a philosophy that allowed Harvard not just to survive but to thrive, emerging over time to become an acknowledged leader in the business formation industry.

His philosophy focused on a highly personalized style of customer service, understanding that beyond the mechanics of forming a business there were dreams and aspirations. A customer’s individual questions and concerns were important and special, and that’s how they were treated.

Rick also decided that a customer’s business formation costs should be fixed, predictable, affordable, and customers should get a lot of value for their money.

After almost 30 years and tens of thousands of business formations later, that same approach is still the signature of our culture and way of doing business: speed, efficiency, expertise and affordability, all delivered with the Harvard legacy of personal service.

Headquartered in Lewes, DE, Harvard Business Services, Inc. today is the leading provider of business formation services. Along with the Harvard Business Services brand of fast, personalized service, customers soon discover a number of other traits that set Harvard Business Services, Inc. far apart from the rest.

So Moonfruit is actively conducting a twitter campaign (@moontweet). They are giving away a Macbook Pro everyday for 10 days. All just for tweeting them up a little. The timing couldn’t be any better given the successive news stories of Iran’s elections, Michael Jackson (and Billy Mays) death. There are tweeps buzzing around the twit-o-sphere like spastic eight year-olds. A majority of which had no idea what Moonfruit even is:

zennette is #moonfruit even a FRUIT?

abllo wots with all this #moonfruit buzz?

Some are even formulating conspiracy theories:

SatansPuppet #moonfruit sounds like a filthy hippy movement it’s just as bad as communism!!

I am sitting back admiring Moonfruit’s marketing prowess and appreciating their product offerings. The DIY website template systems have come a long way in the 10 years I’ve been building websites. At this point, I believe there are only a couple of systems capable of providing you with the tools you need to not only build a basic site but also extend it. Drupal and WordPress are the cream of the crop of base content management systems. Being built on PHP they are lightning fast, and also being open source allow you to customize and add on to the code providing your own solution. For example, integrating ecommerce with inventory management capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics, like we did with Dogfish Head Craft Brewery’s new ecommerce store (https://www.dogfish.com/store/index.htm).

But hats off to Moonfruit for a smart marketing campaign.

On March 3rd, 2009, Inclind Inc launched the brand new front and back end for Dogfish Head Brewery. It’s almost a year to the day that Inclind began planning the new Dogfish Head Brewery website and the features it would include in the first phase of the launch. The end result is a culmination of a years worth of blood, sweat, pizza and tears of hard work and dedication.

Their new site has everything they have been wanting and more. Dogfish Head Brewery can now easily manage their 800 page (and growing!) website, all its users, media, newsletters, news articles, events, RSS feeds, and comments. They can add/remove ‘locations’ of where their product is sold, served, or distributed. This allows customers to log in and see where they can find Dogfish on the ‘Fish Finder‘. Try it out!

With that, the new site features a fully functioning community section and social network. Users can register on the website for an account, after which they can create a basic profile. From there, they have access to submit a map location to their Fish Finder, add or comment on threads in the Forum, submit questions to Dogfish staff in Ask Dogfish, comment on Dogfish staff blogs (Blogfish), and connect with other Dogfish loving fans. All applicable content is able to be sent instantly through Twitter/Digg/MySpace/Facebook/etc in a single click of the ‘Share’ button. We really went all out to flesh out the community side and give users stuff to do in between staff blogs and answering questions.

Our new system that was used on Dogfish Head Brewery has no official name yet, or I’d tell you what it is ha. We hope to have that nailed down soon. What I can tell you is that its the most feature complete, stable and scalable CMS you are going to find on the east coast. I would put it up against anything the competition has to offer from Maine to Florida with confidence ours is as on par or better than what else is available. Since the code is modular, its not coded for 1 strict specific project (as we used to) but rather, any client who comes in the door can have the same power, accessibility, UI and functionality of big time folk like Dogfish. In other words, it makes our platform highly scalable and consistent.

All ya gotta do is ask us.

As for the rest of the week, Pete, Trey and Kevin are representing Inclind at DrupalCon in Washington DC. They will be talking to fellow developers and programmers and sharing / showing off work. You can follow what we’re up to on our Twitter (either by going to the Twitter site, or the side of our page on this site, or adding us inclindinc).

Inclind Inc has launched Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library website. Utilizing our powerful content management system (CMS) publishing platform, managing their website is quick and painless and allows them to get their important message out. Their objective is to supply a book a month to children aged 12 months to 5 years to promote literacy at a crucial time in the development of young minds. Opportunity and education are cornerstones of our country and its great that foundations like this exist to help future generations get a head start.

How Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library Started

Dolly Parton started this program in 1996 in her home county of Sevier, Tennessee, as a way to give back to her community and to promote literacy. She personally paid for each newborn child to receive a new board book, “The Little Engine that Could” by Watty Piper. Those children were also sent one new hard back book each month until they were five years old. On their fifth birthday, they received their last book, “Look Out, Kindergarten, Here I Come” a diploma, and a personal letter from Dolly for completing the program.

Here’s How it Works

A community must make the program accessible to all preschool children in their area. The community pays for the books and mailing, promotes the program, registers the children, and enters the information into the database. From there The Dollywood Foundation takes over and manages the system to deliver the books to the home.

Since 2001, the Dollywood Foundation has helped individual communities provide millions of books to children across America. The Imagination Library now provides books to children in over 700 communities, nearly all 50 states and two other countries including Canada and the UK.

About the Books

Penguin Group USA is the exclusive supplier of all of the books for the program. The free books are carefully selected to help develop a child’s literacy and vocabulary skills through age appropriate, developmental reading materials. There is a national committee of individuals who meet each year to review the Library. The committee is composed of representatives from Parents as Teachers National Center, the International Reading Association, the University of Tennessee, Rutgers University, and the teaching profession. New titles are introduced each year so younger siblings will not receive the exact same books as their older siblings.

I’ve been using Google Mail since around 2004 when it was invite-only. After the first few emails, I was hooked. I killed my existing Hotmail, Yahoo! and other random accounts laying around. They simply provided few features, and demanded money for features that are basically standard in any mail client like Outlook. I email pretty frequently, so it is important that I have a feature rich service available to me anytime, anywhere.

So why Gmail? For starters, its really simple to import existing contacts into your system from your other accounts. Gmail also supports POP3 and IMAP- for free. This means that you can use any email client like Mozilla Thunderbird (also free) from any desktop and connect to your email. Last time I checked, Hotmail and Yahoo! both charged an annual fee to do this which is ridiculous. It isolates customers who don’t want to be tied to a web interface all the time. My storage cap at that time was like 250 MB, a ridiculously small amount. So it was no contest to switch to Gmail, who offer 6 GB to 8 GB per account, almost enough to last a lifetime (I have 7000 email conversations in my inbox).

Included with Gmail is Google Docs, Google’s online alternative to Microsoft Office. It is a lightweight application for basic word processing or spreadsheet creation. You can also share access with other Gmail clients (coworkers, friends, employees) by putting in their email address into the access list. They can then access the files and make revisions without ever having to connect to a server or downloading / uploading files, its all done from the web interface. And if that isn’t enough, Google Talk is embedded into the mailbox sections loaded with your contact list. If they also use Gmail, you can IM directly through Gmail instantly through the power of AJAX.

For those that are tech savvy like me and own an iPhone or iPod Touch, Gmail is supported fully either through Safari or the device’s Mail application- which to me is even more addictive than the Blackberry (Crackberry).

All of these reasons alone are enough to cut ties with other email services and sign up with Google.
Baywood Greens is a scenic golf course community located just off Route 24 in Long Neck, DE. This quaint location provides easy access to both the towns of Rehoboth and Millsboro while offering quiet, luxury homes in resort style living surrounded by an exclusively public 18 hole golf course. The Baywood Greens Clubhouse is host to a restaurant as well as a banquet facility, weddings, and other events.

The inventive new website contains numerous improvements with new features like virtual 3D golf course fly over videos of the new Duneside 9 holes, an interactive event calendar, current weather conditions, and abundant photo galleries of floral arrangements, gardens, weddings, and events. The golf course section website includes new pictures for each hole.

“We could not be happier with the site and we had a great experience working with the Inclind Inc team. The whole project was handled very professionally. We love it!” says Mark Coty, General Manager of Baywood Greens.

About Baywood Greens:

Robert W. Tunnell, Jr., principal of Tunnell Companies, is the visionary behind Baywood Greens golf course, the Clubhouse, Communities, and all their amenities. It has taken a lot of hard work, skill and determination to make his vision come to life. Now that it is finally here you can come and experience the beauty of it first hand.

The initial layout and design of the course was by Bill Love ASGCA (formally of Ault, Clark and Associates). Final design was completed by land sculpture extraordinaire Larry Dewitt and owner/developer Rob Tunnell, who turned original sketches into a work of art.

Baywood Greens is a public golf club located in Long Neck, Delaware that is consistently rated as one of the very best in the state.

The front nine holes are nicknamed the “Woods Nine”, while the back nine holes carry the “Water Nine” nickname. A third 9-hole grouping is planned on the north side of Route 24, which is supposed to be the “Sand Nine”.

The course is noted for having over 200,000 flowers, plants, shrubs, and trees that decorate the playing area.

With the future construction of a large hotel, the owners hope to vie for PGA tournament status.

Cuil. What is Cuil? How do you say Cuil? If anyone noticed in the last two days, a new internet upstart is claiming to be better than Google at searching. Cuil is pronounced ‘cool’ and is anything but. Better than Google at searching? Pretty bold claim. Bold enough to make major headlines at a lot of news outlets and websites, which was probably the goal anyway, generate buzz.

Well, egg on the face my friends. The only reason Cuil’s search index is bigger is because their contextual and ranking algorithms suck. Try any kind of broad term in Cuil and you’ll typically get back pages and pages of linkbait / linkfarm sites. Found that out on the second search, first, trying my full name, and then, a targeted phrase. Doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that Cuil is nowhere near Google in terms of search relevance. Looks like they got ahead of themselves with the announcement and now look quite foolish.

Besides, what good is a search index of 121 jillion pages if results on the first 5 pages aren’t worth jack? Statistics show that most users will try a new search after reaching the third page, if they even bother to go that far.

Cuil suhx. But for the curious… http://www.cuil.com

On July 17th, 2008, Inclind launched Beracah Homes brand new website. The project was a huge undertaking but was executed quickly utilizing the latest methods in web development and delivered on target for the opening day of Delaware State Fair festivities, where Beracah Homes staff are handing out marketing materials advertising their new website.

Their new website gives Beracah Homes staff the ability to fully manage their website content inside and out. They have the ability to create polls, homes, banners, slideshows, forms/inquiries, as well as upload videos for web streaming. You can view Beracah Homes commercials and clips from their DVD on their website, all in Adobe Flash. The server handles the conversion to Adobe Flash, so all a user has to do is upload the video in MPG, WMV, or Quicktime format. The content management system has been simplified to the point where it is extremely easy for the client to make the changes they want without hassle. We utilized cutting edge tools, custom PHP programming and easy UI for management purposes. The backend for Beracah Homes will also provide their 9 builder partners the ability to direct and share content across their sites as well, which will start launching in August, so look for those too.

“We chose Inclind to totally redesign our website because of their professionalism. They had specialists in each area of web development and design. In addition, their portfolio of work was convincing. We’ve been very pleased with the results with our new and dynamic site. – Roger Collison, Vice President, Beracah Homes, Inc.”

About Beracah Homes:

Beracah Homes, Inc. is a custom designed, modular home construction company located in Greenwood, DE. Pioneers in “off-site, stick-built” construction, Beracah began production in its factory on April 7th, 2003 and was built to deliver quality and value in the new home construction industry. That commitment to quality can be seen in the raw materials that are built into each home. Your Beracah is built with a little more lumber than a typical home constructed entirely on-site, is a lot stronger, and will make you very happy.
