This allows for the data to be arranged, mapped, sorted and listed in thousands of ways backed up by hourly data integrity functions to ensure the most up to date information, not to mention the worlds most flexible CMS to manage content with Drupal.

The new site also makes use of extensive search engine optimization work to help Wilgus rank better amongst their competiton. It also utilizes social media tools such as Twitter and Facebook to help spread the word and allow users to share/bookmark listings in their respective services.

What is RETS?

The Real Estate Transaction Standard (RETS) facilitates data transfer between partners in the real estate industry. Creating and improving RETS is a collaborative effort to simplify moving real estate information from system to system and simplify solution development efforts. As RETS usage matures and expands, MLS with geographic overlaps can create data-sharing policies that provide their members a single point of entry to search multiple MLS data sets.

Tying into Prudential Gallo’s custom Intranet allows the staff to manage two websites easily (with more on the way). They can administrate listings that are fed in daily from an MLS feed every morning at 5 AM, add additional data, documents, photos, or virtual tour links. Blue Waterfront Properties staff can also add a Google Map pin to a listing easily. Prudential Gallo’s custom Intranet presents the user with a map of Sussex County, and then they can place a pin on the map if Google can’t find the address. This is a cutting edge feature that most other Delaware real estate firms do not have the capability of doing.

What can we say, this is the place to work. Only we do what we do. Inclind has grown into a strong collective unit, tackling projects left and right. We’re much more fine tuned than we were this time last year, even more aware of our individual (and group) strengths and how to work as a team instead of code cowboys. Since I hopped on this train in 2005 it had just left the station, and now theres no stop or end in site to what can be achieved.

Individually, we’re all really coming into our own. Pete and I are a pretty tight unit, and are developing very creative solutions and enhancements for all Inclind products / applications. Tom’s been knocking designs out of the park on the first try, and the managers are keeping everyone happy.

The newly redesigned website, located at www.wilgusassociates.com, has given Wilgus Associates a brighter, bolder look with easily recognizable divisions of their services allowing for a more user-friendly experience. Each division of the site has been streamlined to facilitate user’s specific needs during their online visits. The new website contains improved and concise contact forms for requests such as modifying your auto policy or reporting an auto claim, maintenance requests for homeowners, and rental reservation requests. These are only some of the great features deployed for Prudential Gallo. It is one of our most versatile web applications yet. Nearly everything, aside from the dynamic code logic, is manageble by Prudential Gallo, allowing them to be as hands-on as they want to be.

As lead developer on the project, I was tasked with approaching the application from both a programmer, web developer, and user’s perspective. I had to put myself in the shoes of the agent and wonder to myself “What would I want to see here?” or “How would I use this?”. Doing so helped us design an even tighter interface on the intranet usability and improved the visual aesthetics, which the client and agents had commented on. They find their new intranet is fantastic and a breath of fresh air, a major and much needed improvement over their old one which was supplied by a previous vendor. It is completely platform independent and is accessible from any OS with a web browser.

I enjoyed working on this project a lot and look forward to working on more like this in the future. I was able to learn more about programming and product integration as well as improving/enhancing user interface.
