SET FOR RELEASE ON MAY 19

New York, NY – CKY has completed mixing their 4th record, tentatively titled Carver City, set for release on Roadrunner Records on May 19. As with all their previous albums, Carver City was produced by the band’s guitarist Chad I Ginsburg. The album was recorded at Studio CIG in the band’s home state of Pennsylvania and mixed by Chad and Phil Nicolo at Studio 4 in Conshohocken, PA. Some of the eleven tracks set to appear include: “Hellions On Parade,” “The Boardwalk Body,” “…And She Never Returned,” “Karmaworks” and “Woe Is Me.”

Singer Deron Miller comments, “Literally all the things that have been keeping CKY strong since our last album – the undying hardcore support of our fans, our unorthodox musical approach and a brand new partnership with Roadrunner Records – have restored an enthusiasm within our band that has never been this extreme. Sobriety, hard work, patching up inner turmoil and a love for what we do has undoubtedly made this the most collaborative and focused CKY effort to date.”

Ginsburg concurs: “The album is more inventive and more layered than our past releases, with the most melodies, textures and riffs of any CKY album. It is by far the most inspired album we have ever made.”

According to Miller, Carver City carries with it a “dark summer vacation vibe,” nostalgic of the band members’ childhood trips to the East Coast beaches. “The fabled town of Carver City has a history of bad luck and misfortune, all the while giving the impression that it’s a pleasant family getaway. Much like CKY’s town of Hellview, Carver City’s events are depicted in the songs, with story lines coming from real life events.”

CKY are planning to tour in support of their Roadrunner Records debut in the spring.

Exciting news for my pals. Our new website for them is going to kick ass.

If you’re still using Internet Explorer, it’s primetime to upgrade your browser. Mozilla Firefox is about to release its 3rd edition of their web browser, with many enhancements, new features, higher security and more. If you’re looking to get the most out of your web experience, Mozilla Firefox 3 is -the- best browser to surf the net.

Using the internet should be fun, not a hassle. It’s only going to get better from here. Lets take a look at some of the new features of Firefox 3:

From lifehacker: The newest version of our favorite open source web browser, Mozilla Firefox 3, offers dozens of new features and fixes, but only a handful will make the most dramatic difference in your everyday browsing. After 17 months of alphas and betas, Mozilla’s finally made a feature-complete release candidate available, so it’s time to spotlight the biggest improvements that will make “Gran Paradiso” the browser to beat. Nearly everything in the open-source app has gotten a second look from the minds at Mozilla, from back buttons to bookmarks, address bars to add-ons, passwords to performance, and the changes will make Firefox 3 worth the upgrade come its official release date, slated for sometime next month. Let’s take a look at the 10 best upgrades in Firefox 3, and how they’ll bolster your browsing, after the jump.Note: Firefox 3 hasn’t been officially released yet—a public preview release is available and intended for testers only. While it’s a very stable preview, only use it if you’re willing to deal with bugs and instability as the Mozilla teams ready the official release.

That said, our favorite Firefox 3 features include:

10. Souped-up Add-ons manager

A big part of what makes Firefox so special to power users is its extensibility with extensions, add-ons, plug-ins and themes, and Firefox 3′s Add-ons dialog got the attention it deserved. The Fox’s Add-Ons menu is more robust and intuitive on at least two fronts. You can search and install extensions and themes right from the pop-up box, no browsing required. Also, a new plug-in manager lets you enable and disable third-party helpers like Flash, QuickTime, and anything else that makes content work (and causes you grief).

9. More intuitive interface overall

Mozilla tweaked and updated a whole lot of little things here and there throughout Firefox 3, which amounts to a big overall boost in usability. Most noticeably when you first switch, the Back button only appears on the address bar if there is a page to go back to, and when it does, it’s bigger and easier to click. Users who want to make sites with small text more readable permanently are in luck; Firefox 3 can increase the size of images and text, or just the text, on hard-to-read sites. In addition, Firefox 3 applies favicons more consistently to bookmarks, you can click a site’s favicon to get extended site identification information, you can resize the search box to hold more than two words, and the find-on-page search box automatically grabs the currently selected word, just to name a few new UI improvements.
In the long term, once webapps catch up, Firefox 3 will let you do really neat stuff in your browser, like register your favorite webapps to open certain file types, and access your online data even when you’re not connected to the ‘net. To get a taste, see how you can configure Firefox 3 to launch Gmail for mailto links.

8. Stronger phishing and malware protection

Firefox 3 has stronger filters and protection against malware, phishing sites, cookies, and other tools that compromise privacy and security. A malware warning shows up when you visit sites known to install malicious software, Firefox 3 doesn’t show the content of knock-off sites (like PayPal “Update Your Account” phishing scams) by default, and Firefox 3 checks against Google’s ever-growing blacklist of phishing sites. Now you can feel even better switching your less tech-aware relatives over to the open-source browser.

7. Improved download manager

Never wonder where a download came from, or went to, again. Gran Paradiso’s download manager lets you search through recent files, resume big downloads after a crash or restart, and lets you keep an eye on your transfers in the status bar.

6. Native looks for every system

Your browser is a serious part of your computer time, so having it look like nothing else on your system can be seriously annoying. Firefox’s designers made system integration a priority with this release, and it shows—even Windows XP’s and Vista’s button layouts have subtle differences in color and shading. There’s differences at deeper levels, too, with Cover Flow-type styling in the add-ons manager for OS X, transparencies in key places in Vista and OS X, and other tweaks that make your browser feel like a natural extension of your system.

5. Streamlined “Remember password” handling

No more guessing whether you’re saving the right password or clicking “Cancel” on unnecessary pop-up requests. Gran Paradiso only asks you to utilize its password-saving function once you’re already in and sure everything worked, and it won’t block you from seeing the logged-out version of a page if you don’t want to sign in.

4. Smart bookmarks

Much like iTunes’ Smart Playlists, Firefox 3′s new Smart Bookmarks function can analyze your browsing habits and create lists of links based on it. The default bookmark toolbar only comes with three standards, “Most Visited,” “Recently Bookmarked,” and “Recent Tags” (more on that later), but it’s none too hard to make your own.

3. Places Organizer replaces the Bookmark Manager

Previous versions of Firefox’s bookmark organizer have been pretty utilitarian affairs that make you drag and drop your links around nested folders. With Firefox 3′s new Places Organizer, those with reams of URLs can find them using boolean rule searches and multi-column results, as well as keep them better organized with a tagging system. Better still, you can save those smart searches for when you next need them.

2. Smart Location Bar learns how you browse

Like a personal assistant who telepathically knows when you’re going to need just the right phone number (or Starbucks fix), Firefox 3′s address bar, now dubbed the Smart Location Bar, helps you get to your frequently visited, or recently discovered, sites in super-quick fashion. That application you just read about on Lifehacker, but can’t remember the name? Type “li” into your address bar, and Firefox instantly pulls the relevant sites from your history. The bar also learns through repetition, so the next time you start searching with “li,” it knows you’re looking for Lifehacker, not Linux.

1. Insanely improved performance

It’s not flashy, and it doesn’t have any social networking features, but Firefox 3′s actual performance is the best reason anyone should consider upgrading, or making the switch to the ‘fox. Firefox’s engineers claim that their third major release is 9.3 times faster than Internet Explorer 7 in JavaScript performance, and 2.7 times faster than Firefox 2. This means snappier browser performance when you’re using webapps like Gmail, Remember the Milk, and more. Even more important, especially for Mac users, is the improved memory usage and more than 15,000 improvements that make for a less crash-prone browser. I’ve seen noticeable speed-ups in page loading in Linux, XP, and Vista, but the real reason I’ve switched over to using Release Candidate 1 is that I haven’t had to cross my fingers every time a Flash-based video loads. Graphed comparison of memory use amongst browsers in Vista courtesy of John Resig.

As you can tell, we’re completely geeked out about the upcoming Firefox 3 release. For more about the new version of the browser, check out our continuing coverage:

Using cutting edge design techniques and the latest in web standards, Inclind was able to meet and exceed StoneTech’s internet presence that the owners were looking for. The website is fully controllable from its custom designed content management system web application that we offer. StoneTech are also able to collect leads generated by the website into their intranet automatically, helping the staff keep track of who is contacting them.

Initially, the most-noticeable element of this website is the striking background of crushed stone from an actual StoneTech jobsite. This website features sections about StoneTech news, equipment, and even a map with directions. Inclind developed a great, new, photo gallery feature just for this site.

The StoneTech project gallery features photos from past asphalt recycling, concrete crushing, and even demolition projects. Visit the new website to browse the photos from the demolition of the old Salisbury Mall.

As with all of our website applications, full search engine optimization capabilities were implemented as well so anyone looking for their services can find them easily in any major search engine. Inclind’s applications allow for very organic search engine methods to be executed by the user, and our web applications are intelligent enough to manage this without any interaction at all. Our adherance to strict web standards allows us to deliver websites that are accessible in any major browser without hindrance, reaching a wider audience than older methods from a few years ago.

“Inclind’s CMS (content management system) allows us to react quickly to changing market conditions.” says Brian Tregoe, President of Stonetech LLC.

About StoneTech Crushing:

From Wikipedia:

Teamwork is the concept of people working together cooperatively, as in a sports team.

Projects often require that people work together to accomplish a common goal; therefore, teamwork is an important factor in most organizations. Effective collaborative skills are necessary to work well in a team environment. Many businesses attempt to enhance their employees’ collaborative efforts through workshops and cross-training to help people effectively work together and accomplish shared goals.

Every business requires teamwork. It doesn’t matter what field you are in. Music, medical, law, military, web development, even marriage. Nothing is successful without the mutual backing of each other toward the end goal. Support comes from respect, not the requirement thereof based on a job title. Command it, don’t demand it. It starts with you!

There are 4 major factors of an individual that calculates how successful teamwork will be:

Respect

Personality

Commitment

Communication

When 1 person has these qualities, and you match them with others who do as well, you get solid team chemistry, team dynamics. This creates success.

It’s not about having a group and saying, ‘get this done’. You can’t force people to work together just because you say they have to. Remember when you were assigned group projects in school or college? Didn’t always go so well did it? You’d have a couple people not pulling their weight, another who let someone else do all the work just to pass.

It’s also not about assembling experts and throwing money at them to solve a problem.

Without chemistry and team dynamics, it just won’t work. What you’ll have on your hands is a revolving door environment, people coming in, quickly going out. New hires, quick fires, low morale.

Team dynamics is a team that can play off of each others strengths in order to support each others areas of weakness. What you have then is a tight unit where the rate of failure drops to nearly zero. Look at Google. Everyone there isn’t the best in everything, most of them are good programmers with very creative personalities and commitment to what they do. Even when Google started, Larry Page and Sergey Brin had such a solid foundation that their college project evolved into taking over the world. But Google is good, so thats okay! What I mean here is, think of all the designers who try to program, and all the programmers who try to design. On their own, they usually do great at one, poor at the other. But put them together and focus on each others strong areas (programming and design) and the end product is infinitely greater than what it was before. Each persons weakness is the others strength, together they form a successful unit. Team dynamics are a force multiplier!

Earlier I mentioned that it doesn’t matter what field you are in, that teamwork encompasses any area. So lets draw a parallel with another industry, music.

Off the top of your head, can you think of any bands that have been around a while? Lets see:

Rolling Stones

Rush

Metallica

AC/DC

Red Hot Chili Peppers

The Smashing Pumpkins

Guns ‘n Roses

Pearl Jam

Megadeth

These are some of my favorite bands who have accumulated massive success for the last 20 years, some even more than that. But there are two on the list that don’t have something in common with the rest.

While all bands have had at least 1 lineup change, only two have a revolving door type environment. Guns ‘n Roses and Megadeth have changed their lineups at least every 2 to 3 years since they started. In particular, Axl Rose and Dave Mustaine (both frontmen) keep a stranglehold on everything from writing, playing, mixing, and deciding pay percentages. They don’t really care for the input of the others, and in their mind, they are the star of the show.

So, what happened?

Both Axl and Dave did not respect their bandmates nor attempt to communicate with them on major issues or pending work. The result ended up being band members coming and going. Their poor, controlling, megalomaniacal attitudes brought dreams and careers to an end. Everyone knows that when Slash and Izzy Stradlin quit Guns ‘n Roses, the band was effectively dead. Why? The chemistry had dissolved, you didn’t have passionate, creative people working together anymore, you just had a bunch of guys playing instruments. That just doesn’t work. Sure, you can still see them in concert today, but the only original member is Axl, and its basically just a name and a memory. Same with Megadeth. The chemistry is gone. Imagine how many more albums they could have done if they each possessed the 4 qualities I mentioned at the start of this article!

It’s the same way with web development. You can put anyone on the keyboard and write code, put anyone in front of Photoshop, anyone can give orders. But its just not the same as having a strong team who has a desire to work together.

This is why Inclind is successful at any undertaking and every client is happy with us, why we’re the best web development company in Delaware, and one of the best in the region. We aren’t just a face and a title, we’re human beings here to help you and help each other. We don’t just take your money and run, we make it worth your while. Your satisfaction and success is shared by us.

While we’re a bit late on a ’2008 is Here’ type post, Inclind is busy firing on all cylinders and moving full steam ahead. All staff are visibly refreshed and enthusiastic after a holiday break and good times at Shaun and Jessica’s wedding. We’ve hired two new employees, and even the interns dropped by a time or two to see whats up (sorry, not currently accepting challenges to my Wii Sports champion title).

What can we say, this is the place to work. Only we do what we do. Inclind has grown into a strong collective unit, tackling projects left and right. We’re much more fine tuned than we were this time last year, even more aware of our individual (and group) strengths and how to work as a team instead of code cowboys. Since I hopped on this train in 2005 it had just left the station, and now theres no stop or end in site to what can be achieved.

Individually, we’re all really coming into our own. Pete and I are a pretty tight unit, and are developing very creative solutions and enhancements for all Inclind products / applications. Tom’s been knocking designs out of the park on the first try, and the managers are keeping everyone happy.

2008 is going to be very good for all involved with Inclind one way or another.

It’s been a little while since I’ve written, we’re really busy as of late. Personally, I have been reading a lot of books which has taken me off the internet most weeknights. I’ll detail that later on my own website.

http://www.designmeltdown.com/chapters/GotWood/Part4.aspx

Second row of thumbnails, #2. Bayball Classic has been part of a recent feature on Design Meltdown, one of the biggest graphic design websites on the internet. Every few weeks the authors select a handful of sites from the internet and feature them as part of their theme article. “Got Wood?” features a classic design element of using wood as a major design piece. Bayball Classic, a website for a local basketball tournament, has a hardwood court background that fills the site. Even though the site is a year old, its still one of my favorite designs here.

“Interesting how we can read into the people behind a site based on such a simple element isn’t it? Just serves to show that you have to think things through. Your saying something about yourself with every design decisions you make.” – From Design Meltdown

Inclind, Inc. definitely makes a statement with every design, website, and web application we make.

We are proud to say that Southern Delaware Tourism has launched. You can visit the website here:

http://www.visitsoutherndelaware.com

Another beautiful, well designed, fluid website by Inclind. Southern Delaware Tourism runs off of our Inclind CMS (content management system) platform so the staff can quickly manage their website. Our advanced CMS allows them to control every element on the page, except for the design, giving them absolute control of the content. A robust media manager allows them to manage, organize, and share documents and photos, as well as control the banners on the website. On top of that, they can manage and review contacts (much like an address book in Outlook) and mailing lists and manage an event calendar.

Also, we had an opportunity to launch a new product / add-on with the website.

I’m excited at this website launch (like many) because it marks the first client to employ the use of the blog platform I developed in Coldfusion. It is integrated fully with our CMS (Content Management System) so everything is usable from one central interface. Also, it looks killer. On the left hand side of the site, you will see a button below the calendar that says Southern Delaware Blog. This is the area where the blog is.

Why is this important?

Typically when a company wants a blog, they face two common options. One is to go to Google and use their Blogger application, and another (more popular) method is to use WordPress.

On the surface, nothing is wrong with using either. We’ve used WordPress in the past for clients and ourselves, but now that Inclind Blog is tested and ready to use we plan on using this. Ready-to-use platforms such as WordPress are not all that great (even though we go through great lengths customizing it), and here’s why:

Integration

When you get a site at Blogger or WordPress, integrating it into an existing website is not as simple as most people think. The closest most will come is to setup a subdomain and point it in the direction of the blog. Those who are technically savvy may be able to figure out how to merge the code. Most don’t, or won’t. Thus becoming disenfranchised altogether with their endeavor of being a blogger, which is sad. Blogging is fun!

Websites that are already established may have an intranet or CMS they use. Ready-to-use blogging platforms also have them, so now you have two interfaces when you should only have one. This can be confusing for some people, and its another login to remember. Example, if you have a blog built in PHP (like WordPress) and your website is in another language like Coldfusion or Ruby on Rails, you won’t be able to mix the two technologies. What does that mean? That means that the company handling your website has to make a ‘clone’ of your website, removing all the dynamic code that the blog is not built on. This takes time and can be a frustrating process. Also, if your host server doesn’t have the right language installed, your blog won’t run, period. This alone is a lot of responsibility for the user to manage (and they shouldn’t have to consider any of that).

I don’t want to alarm current clients and have them believe that WordPress is terrible. It’s not. I’ve been refining our platform for the last few months so that its easy to use, seamless, has powerful SEO (search engine optimization) methods built in, and fits right into web work flow just like any other section of your Intranet or CMS. Most importantly, not overloaded with bloated features like the others are.

Just what you need, when you need it.

Interface

As mentioned before, our blog platform can be standalone (for folks who just want a blog) or added into an existing intranet or CMS. A user shouldn’t have to have multiple interfaces at different addresses to manage their website. Defeats the purpose of centralized management.

If you don’t have an intranet, extranet, CMS (content management system) or CRM (customer / contact relationship management system) we can also help you get started with that. Contact us (302-856-2802) for more information.

Versoning

You won’t have to patch up and keep your blog up to date. We do that. For example with WordPress, its up to you to keep it patched, updated, and functioning. The user shouldn’t be bothered with doing that. It’s tedious, you can make mistakes and lose data, or overwrite your layout. Don’t chance it.

Security and Vulnerability

Open source languages such as PHP tend to have more security loopholes and exploits in it than a closed source one like Coldfusion, which this blog platform is based off of. One reason why other platforms like Typepad, WordPress and others are getting updated a few times a month is because exploits, cross site scripting hacks, and other security issues are detected. If you fall behind on updating your core files for these blogs, you may fall victim to a security exploit yourself. The end result is usually losing control of your site due to these hacks.

With us, this won’t happen.

As a user of many systems, I feel we can provide the best solution for you in the end. We build our applications from the ground up according to YOUR needs, instead of giving you a huge application and saying to use just a few parts. If you don’t have an intranet, extranet, CMS (content management system) or CRM (customer / contact relationship management system) we can also help you get started with that. Contact us (302-856-2802) for more information.
